Greetings to the  list membership. Thank you for reading and following up on
the action items sent by the political action committee. Your voice is what
makes tracking legislation a powerful tool for change. The Denali KidCare  (
access to health care) bill is one of the priority issues of concern
identified by social workers across Alaska. This legislative session is is
almost over and now is the time to email, call , write letters and consider
testifying.

SB 27, Denali KidCare Eligiblity on a Fast Track     Take Action!

On Wednesday, May 9th, SB 27 was heard on the Senate floor and passed 18-2.
The bill was transmitted to the House, is now in House Finance, and will be
heard on Thursday, May 10th at 1:30.  SB 27 stabilizes DKC eligibility at
175% FPL.  But at 200% FPL, the program's original eligibility level,  DKC
could serve an additional 2,400 children.  Send a message to members of the
House Finance Committee that they should pass HB 27, but with DKC at the
200% FPL eligibility level.
