"Creating and Sustaining a Healthy Environment for All Alaskans" is the
theme of the 2005 Alaska Health Summit, emphasizing Health and the
Environment and the mid-point progress toward Healthy Alaskans 2010
goals. Confirmed plenary speakers include Dr. Robert Anda, Co-principle
Investigator of the ACE Study,  walking advocate Mark Fenton, an Alaska
Health Status Update by Dr. Richard Mandsager, an invited address on
Global Health in the Changing Climate by Dr. Sharon Hrynkow of the NIH
Fogarty International Center, with the closing plenary by Dr. William
Thomas, elder care pioneer and Eden Alternative founder. Among the
tracks offered are Clinical Medicine and Public Health, Circumpolar
Health, Cancer, Health Promotion, Injury Prevention, Behavioral Health,
Rural and Primary Care,  Alaska Native Health, Advocacy, Oral Health,
Maternal Child Health,  Women's Health, Child Abuse Prevention, Suicide
Prevention and Public Health Planning. Post Summit offerings December
1-2nd will include the 2nd Annual Asthma Summit,  Alaska Cancer
Partnership Annual Meeting, Vaccinate Alaska Coalition Annual Meeting,
